Folks - I have been hearing mixed comment on Interim EAD.. Is it still permitted. I heard that they have stopped issuing interim EAD's... If it is still permitted how do we go about obtaining an interim EAD.

To my knowledge, the PD field is always blank for EAD reciept notices.
I e-filed EAD renewal. On the I-797 Notice of Action that they mailed me, the "Priority Date" field is blank. The same is true for my last EAD notice of action as well which I did not check last time. Is it normally blank?
Is anybody else in the same boat?

Hello everybody,
My lawyer mailed me photocopy of I-485 form ,EAD application and AP form
which she filed last month. I saw that my lawyer has enter my old address (Michigen ) by mistake. My current address is in Illinois. The G328 form mentions the Illinois address as my present address. I had already send my AR-11 mentioning my Illinois address as my new address before my I-485 was filed.
My worry is will the finger print notice,EAD, will come to Michigen address or Illinois address
Pls guide what should I do to change the address on 485 to my new address..

My understanding is that USCIS pre-adjudicates every application and requests fingerprint/namecheck, even if the dates are not current. It is done to weed out denials right away - you don't need to wait for PD to become current to be denied.

I have applied my I-485 (EB3, PD - 2004 Feb) last week. Planning to file EB2 PERM with the same employer next week for porting the EB3 dates. My doubts are
1) Can we file an interim application at I-485 stage for porting the EB3 priority date for EB2, rather than filing a second I-485?
2) After the EB2 I-140 approval, do we need to wait for my priority dates to become current for submitting the interim application for EB2 I-485?
3) I am doing this for getting the GC comparitively earlier. But is there any issues/threats for doing like this?
Gurus, please comment the pros and cons of this.

Dear All,
1. Can someone please let me know what I should take with me when I meet the USCIS civil surgeon? Who gives the Form - I-693? My lawyer has not attached that form in her mails to me? Does the hospital provide or should I take one with me myself?
2. How is the procedure usually with the USCIS civil Surgeon? What does the surgeon do and how is the examination like?
Please help me understand this process better. I am aware of the vaccinations I should take but I am not aware of the procedure with the surgeons.

hello folks..
I was on H1.. but i quit my job and i am currently enrolled as a Full time student.
I need to go to Mexico as part of my Study program....
I have received the change of status from USCIS..but i need to get my passport stamped..
I have not been successful in getting an appointment in Canada....
>>is there a wait time in any canadian consulates...for more than 2-3 days????
>> Can i go to mexico and get the visa stamped during my stay there..is it risky???

If the H1 - transfer gets denied, isn't there an option of filling a appeal? I guess, one has 15 days to get out of the country, but he or she ca file & appeal & stay in the country but cannot work...

There was another thread on this change.gov already and we posted some of our stories in there. This I think will work and can be done by all sceptics here.There is no harm in writing abt your story and get their attention to our plight.
