Dear Friends,
We recently moved our place and we are now in a new apartment.
We have immigration matters that needs to be updated but we don't know what we should do?
The following are affected
1. EAD
2. H1B
3. AP
4. I 485 related things.
My Ead and Ap has old address and the card also holds the same old address.
Could you please tell me what steps I must initiate to get this straightened out? Do I need a new EAD card? Please help me.

Generally attorneys charge a retainer fee. What that means is they are willing to represent you regarding any issues with a case. Some services are covered with retainer fee and they may charge additional fee based on any extra work. For Example AC21 Retainer fee is around 750/- where they submit a G28. Then for any RFE they generally charge in the range of 250$.
Thanks for the reply. I understand the retainer fee but I guess what bothers me is why the attorney wasn't up front about the situation or simply charge for a consult then going ahead with a retainer when we simply thought there was something more involve to do with my case at the time.
Its the way that the situation was manipulated to get us to retain this attorney for further use when at the time it wasn't needed that feels fraudulent.

I too received a similar notice. My employer replied by submitting proof of the paid checks. Meanwhile, I received my receipt notice that shows $395 received. I have also received the FP notice and the same was completed yesterday. Customer service was not of much help.

My Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Eng
Masters Degree in Computer Science
Nationality: India
Experience: 6 months (don't have docs to prove it though now..)
I would like to file my GC under EB2.
As per my little internet knowledge, is it true that for base requirements under EB2 are - MS + 0 years exp (Please correct me if i am wrong here)
I know one has to also prove that the job requires a MS degree ?? How can a lawyer suffice that requirement ?? Does 1 have to specify all latest hi-fi technologies for that ??
Are the other requirements of applying under EB2 ??
So to apply under EB2 one should belong to O*Net� JobZone 5, since i am comp eng/software developer i belong to category of O*Net� JobZone 4.
So for applying EB2 under O*Net� JobZone 4, do i have to show some experience related to that field/job ?? (Really confused about this one)

That was an old news. Around 60000 visa's were pre-allocated to pending applications before July 2nd, 2007. I would be very surprised if the numbers are not much more than 18000 for India EB3. India used to get around 40-45 K visas per year for all EB categories before 2005 since the soft quota was introduced. All these numbers are avilable on USCIS website.

Actually I think that special treatment may be for all H1-b renewals. When we went for our stamping 3 years ago at Delhi, at the outside window they stamped our passport with "green" sticker or something like that and when we entered the hall at the FP window, they said you don't need to stand in line and we were taken directly to AO. We did not have children and it was my 2nd H1 renewal stamping and my wife's first H4 renewal stamping.

I never entered the US in the first place.
I believe you can enter as long as the visa does not expire. But make sure to check with your company lawyer.
Also make sure you have a real job/work when you enter.

As far as I know/understsand : to be eligible for H1B visa for 2010, a company should applke for H1B on april 1st 2010, so that the person gets it by october 1 2010 right??
if the 65000 limit is still available , lets say after october 1st 2010, can the company still apply for H1B after october 1st or november or even ion december, as long as the H1B cap 65000 is still available??

My wife has recently converted her H4 to F1 by applying for COS through I-539. We are yet to receive the approval notice by mail, but we have confirmed online through USCIS that its been approved.
The question is - at what date would she be deemed to be on F1, is it from the date of the F1 approval notice or is it the start date mentioned on I-20.
What is normally seen as the start date? Can some one who is on F1 respond ?
